Care Instructions
Follow these steps to prevent the print from cracking, peeling, or fading:
1. Preparation
- Turn it inside out: This creates a barrier between the graphic and the harsh agitation of the washing machine, as well as friction from other garments.
- Sort your colors: Keep lights with lights and darks with darks to prevent color bleeding.
- Zip and button: Fasten all zippers and buttons on other items in the load to prevent them from snagging or tearing the heavyweight fabric.
2. Washing
- Cold water only: Hot and warm water can shrink the cotton and degrade the adhesive or ink in the graphic.
- Delicate cycle: Use a gentle cycle. Heavyweight cotton tees are sturdy, but aggressive machine spinning can still warp the fabric and damage the print over time.
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Skip fabric softeners and bleach. Fabric softeners can break down the print, and bleach will discolor your garment. Use a mild, color-safe detergent.
3. Drying
- Air-dry (Recommended): The heat from a clothes dryer is the #1 enemy of graphic tees. Hang the shirt on a proper hanger or lay it flat on a clean, dry towel to air dry.
- Machine dry (Only if necessary): If you must use a dryer, set it to tumble dry low or air fluff with zero heat. Take the shirt out while it is slightly damp to avoid static and graphic cracking.
4. Ironing & Storage
- Skip or iron inside out: It is best to avoid ironing the graphic altogether. If the tee is wrinkled, steam it instead. If you must iron, turn the shirt inside out and use a low heat setting.
- Store properly: Hang your tees to maintain their shape, or fold them neatly and store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
